How you use your payment card online is changing...
Here at eFlow, you may notice some changes to how you use your payment card with us on our Digital Channels such as our website and app. When using your payment card on www.eflow.ie or our mobile app (The M50 Quick Pay app), you may be asked to provide additional verification to confirm it’s really you using your card. This is an extra layer of security called Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) also known as ‘PSD2’ and is being rolled out in order to keep your card safe and secure.
SCA (PSD2) will be enforced in Ireland from December 31, 2020 and it requires banks to check that payments are being made by the correct cardholder and not a fraudster, by asking customers for two methods of identification such as a fingerprint or four-digit one-time passcode rather than one.
If you use your payment card regularly online, then you may be familiar with these measures. If not, we just wanted to give you the heads up.
We have been asked by your bank to facilitate these security checks and we're going to make it as easy as we can for you.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
