Romantic Places in Dublin – The Guide

Still no plans for Valentine's day? We’ve a list of the most romantic places in Dublin to treat that special someone. Visiting any of these places?  Let us know on Twitter or Facebook.

Trek with Alpacas

After something a little different? K2 Alpacas organise weekend hikes in Co. Wicklow with a furry friend to keep you company. The hike is led by owner Joe, who is there to share his knowledge with you about these amazing animals.  To finish off the day, glasses of prosecco and strawberries are on offer for everyone to enjoy.  If that doesn’t win you major brownie points I don’t know what will. To book a hike visit their website HERE.

Wander Dun Laoghaire

Still feeling the pinch from Christmas? Dun Laoghaire has heaps of stuff to do, from a walk down the pier with a Scrumdiddly’s to finish (it’s worth the queue – promise!) or take refuge in one of the many restaurants to have some great food and watch the sea view.  Feeling brave? Take a dip in the 40 Foot and pack a hot drink and some towels to warm back up!

Visit Farmleigh

Want to stay close to the city? Farmleigh is an Edwardian mansion tucked away in Phoenix Park and perfect for a romantic evening where there are an art gallery and a working farm on the grounds.  Want to turn it up a notch? The Boathouse Restaurant overlooks the estate’s man-made lake where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or wine.

Restaurants Galore!

Dublin now has a host of excellent restaurants to choose from to treat that special someone. Our top picks are Delahunt on Camden street, an off-licence-turned restaurant, serving up Irish cuisine against a backdrop of vintage furniture and roaring fireplaces and This is the same restaurant Harry and Megan visited on their Irish tour last year so if its good enough for them its good enough for us.

Want to go all out? Mulberry Garden tuck away in a cosy cottage in Donnybrook is Michelin-starred and has a menu that includes caviar, monkfish and lamb.  If it’s just some drinks you’re after, you can’t beat Vintage Cocktail Club in Temple Bar. Behind a mystery black door is a cosy bar which serves up some amazing cocktails, guaranteeing you a good valentine’s night.

Splash out with a Private Cinema

Want to make a huge impression? A trip to the movies is always a solid date night plan but make the movie experience more special by catching a flick at Denzille Cinema. The tiny movie theatre only has 30 seats and you can even rent it out for a private viewing—which might very well win an award for most VIP date ever. Details about hiring can be found on their website
