Why sign up for an eFlow account?

An eFlow account will enable you to pay your M50 tolls automatically and at a lower rate. With an eFlow account, you won’t have to worry about late payment penalties any more.

Register today and any journeys that you have made through the M50 toll in the past 48 hours will be applied to your new tolling account at a discounted rate. 

However, if you have already paid for recent tolls in the past 48 hours before signing up for an eFlow account, you will not be owed the difference at the discounted rate.

Low Emissions Vehicle Toll Incentive (LEVTI)

The Low Emissions Vehicle Toll Incentive (LEVTI) is part of the Irish Government’s investment strategy for supporting the uptake of electric vehicles in Ireland.

From June 2018, electric vehicle owners with a registered tag account will see a reduction in tolling costs on some Irish toll roads. The incentive hopes to encourage more road users to consider electric vehicles.

What type of account would suit me?


The eFlow ‘Personal’ tolling account is a cheap and easy tolling solution. If you’ve got a car or two in the household, and a few forgetful family members, then the ‘Personal’ account will suit you perfectly.

Once a valid payment method is active on the account, all M50 toll journeys made by the vehicles on your account will be automatically applied to the account.

There are no differences in the rates for a business or personal account. The charges are defined by whether the account is an eFlow tag or video registered.

A ‘Personal’ account can be an eFlow tag or video account. You will also have the option to choose either a Top-Up account or use our bill-pay monthly deduction system.


An eFlow ‘Business’ tolling account is a great option if you’re trying to manage toll charges for one or more company vehicles. You can add an unlimited number of vehicles to the account and keep track of all your vehicles, journeys and payments online.

If you have any questions about your account, our dedicated account managers are on hand to help out.

If your business has a fleet of more than twenty vehicles, you can complete your registration over the phone under the guidance of a dedicated fleet account manager. Simply click ‘Request a call-back’ during step two of the registration process.

Your ‘Business’ account can be an eFlow tag or video account. You will also have the option to choose either a top-up account or use our bill pay monthly deduction system.

Tag or Video Account?

You have decided to go with a ‘Personal’ or ‘Business’ account - what’s next?

You’ll need to choose whether the account is a ‘Video’ or ‘Tag’ account.

If you use only the M50 toll road then the ‘M50 Video Account’ is perfect.

If you want a tolling account that covers your vehicle both on the M50 and other tolls around Ireland, then you should use an ‘eFlow Tag Account’. You've seen those clever types taking the express lane on the M8/M1? Yes, those people have tag accounts. 

Here’s a breakdown of the differences between the two options:

Please be aware that the €1.23 monthly fee for your tag account will begin from the date the tag is used to you.

Bill pay or Top-Up

Bill pay or Top-Up

You’ve decided whether you’re a Video or a Tag person - now the final step is to select the way that you’d like to cover your tolling costs: Bill Pay or Top-Up. 

Bill Pay

With a ‘Bill Pay Account’, all of your toll charges for one month are bundled into a single payment. Payment is taken during the following month from your registered payment method.

For example, if you make two journeys in January, we will take the payment for these in February.

Bill Pay customers can also make full or partial payments of their account balance throughout the month at This can help to spread the cost across the full month.

Top-Up customers have their toll charges automatically deducted from a top-up account whenever a journey is made.

Once your account balance goes below the low-balance threshold of €12.00, it is topped up automatically using the payment method on your account. Top-Up customers can also top up their account manually online before they reach the low-balance threshold.

Top-Up customers can set their top-up amount to a minimum of €30.00 and a maximum of €1000.00 online. If you require a larger top-up amount, please contact us.

After setting up a Top-Up account, an initial deduction of €40.00 will be taken from your chosen payment method. Once the initial balance goes below the low-balance threshold, we will then deduct the desired top-up amount.

Can I switch between account types?

Once your account is set up, you may decide that you’d like to switch your account from Video to Tag. A switch from a Video to a Tag Account can be made online:

  1. Log in to your account with your username and password.
  2. Select ‘My Details’, and then ‘Convert to a Tag account’.
  3. Select ‘Confirm’ and an ‘Update Successful’ onscreen message will confirm that the change has been applied.

Please note:  Once confirmed this action cannot be undone.

Your tag will be delivered to your address by regular post within 3-5 working days.

Tag or Video

It is not possible to switch from a Tag to a Video account. To do that, you’ll need to close your Tag account and then open a new video account.

To close your account, you'll need to contact eFlow on 1890 50 10 50, or online at, or through our Twitter or Facebook pages. A customer service agent will guide you through the process.

Please note that outstanding payments must be made, and any tags associated with your account must be returned to eFlow before your account can be closed.

Please note: There is a charge of €20.00 for each unreturned tag.

Bill Pay - Top-Up

Unfortunately, once your account is set up, you won’t be able to switch from Bill Pay to Top-Up or vice versa. You’ll have to close your existing account and register a new one if you want to switch the way that your account is billed.

If you wish to close a Top-Up account and open a Bill Pay account, please let us know what your old account number is, so that any credit remaining against the old account can be transferred to your new one.
