The M50 toll rates will change for Registered Tag users, Registered Video Tolling users and Unregistered users from 1st January 2024 and will increase:

  • By €0.20 for vehicles of up to 8 passengers.
  • By €0.30 for Buses or coaches of more than 8 passengers and goods vehicles not exceeding 2,000kg, and tag users for goods vehicles between 2,000kg and 10,000kg.
  • By €0.40 for video account users and unregistered users of goods vehicles between 2,000kg and 10,000kg.
  • By €0.40 for all goods vehicles exceeding 20,000kg.

The 2024 toll charges have been calculated based on the Consumer Price Index (“CPI”) which increased by 6.3% between August 2022 and August 2023. This increase has resulted in an increase in the tolls chargeable for users of the M50 as set out above.

Tolling is a vital source of funding for the operation and maintenance of our national roads network.
